CatchFolder setup guide (about 5 minutes)
You need: your license key (shown after checkout; it looks like CF-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) and the Google account whose Drive should receive the files. A personal Gmail account works; some Google Workspace admins block the "Anyone" sharing this needs.
1. Create a new Apps Script project
Open script.google.com while signed in to the right Google account and click New project. Click Untitled project at the top and rename it CatchFolder.
Screenshot (described): the Apps Script home page with a "New project" button at the top left; the editor opens with a file called Code.gs containing function myFunction() {{}}.
2. Paste the code
Select everything in Code.gs and replace it with the CatchFolder code. Then find the line LICENSE_KEY: 'PASTE-YOUR-LICENSE-KEY-HERE' and paste your key between the quotes.
3. Add the upload page
Click the + next to Files → HTML and name it exactly Upload (the editor adds .html). Replace its contents with:
Screenshot (described): the left sidebar now lists two files, Code.gs and Upload.html.
4. Run setup once and allow permissions
Press Ctrl/Cmd + S to save. In the toolbar's function menu choose setup and click Run. Google asks for authorization: Review permissions → choose your account → on "Google hasn't verified this app" click Advanced → Go to CatchFolder (unsafe) → Allow.
Screenshot (described): a dialog titled "Authorization required", then a warning page "Google hasn't verified this app" with a small "Advanced" link at the bottom left.
The Execution log shows License: ACTIVE, plus links to your new CatchFolder uploads folder and the CatchFolder upload log sheet. Running setup also starts your pass (Event Pass: 30 days; Annual: 12 months).
5. Deploy your upload link
Click Deploy → New deployment → gear icon → Web app. Set Execute as: Me and Who has access: Anyone, then click Deploy and copy the Web app URL (it ends in /exec). That's your upload link.
Screenshot (described): the "New deployment" dialog with two dropdowns: "Execute as" set to your email ("Me") and "Who has access" set to "Anyone".
6. Test it
Open the link in a private/incognito window (signed out), upload a small file, and check that it appears in the folder and the log sheet. If notifications are on, you'll get an email.
7. Share it
Put the link in your Google Form's description ("Upload your files here: …"), send it by email, or embed it on your site. Ask for the same name or email on both so you can match uploads to form responses.
Settings you can change (CONFIG block)
| Setting | Default | What it does |

| PAGE_TITLE / PAGE_INSTRUCTIONS / SUCCESS_MESSAGE | generic | Text uploaders see |

| MAX_FILES_PER_SUBMISSION | 10 | Files per submission |
| ALLOWED_EXTENSIONS | any | e.g. pdf,jpg,png |
| ASK_/REQUIRE_NAME, ASK_/REQUIRE_EMAIL, ASK_NOTE | ask, optional | Uploader fields (saved in the log and the file description) |
| NOTIFY_OWNER_EMAIL | true | One summary email per submission (Gmail sending limits apply: 100 recipients/day on personal accounts, Google) |
| CLOSE_AFTER | none | Stop accepting uploads after a date |
Troubleshooting
- Visitors are asked to sign in: "Who has access" isn't set to "Anyone". Redeploy with Anyone.
- "Upload link unavailable": open the script, run
setupand read the License line (wrong key, pass expired, or an Event Pass already used by another copy of the script). - "The owner's Google Drive is full": free up space or add storage.
- "Larger than 50 MB": ask the uploader to compress or split the file.
- Script function not found: doGet: the CatchFolder code didn't replace the default code. Repeat step 2 and save.

FAQ
Why does Google say the app isn't verified?
Because you're running your own script in your own account. Google shows this for scripts that haven't been through Google's app review. Click Advanced, then 'Go to CatchFolder (unsafe)'. The code is right there in your editor for you to read.
What permissions does it ask for and why?
See and manage your Drive files (create the upload folder and save files), Sheets (the upload log), connect to an external service (the license check and Google's Drive upload endpoint), send email as you (your upload notifications), and see your email address (to send notifications to you).
I don't see 'Anyone' under 'Who has access'.
Your Google Workspace admin has restricted web app sharing. Use a personal Gmail account, or ask your admin. If it can't work for you, ask for a refund within 21 days of purchase.
How do I change settings later?
Edit the CONFIG block, save, then Deploy > Manage deployments > pencil icon > Version: New version > Deploy. Your upload link stays the same.
Can I embed the upload page on my website?
Yes: <iframe src="YOUR_EXEC_URL" width="100%" height="720" style="border:0"></iframe>. Unlike a Google Form with a file upload question, it can be embedded.
