Free upload button and embed snippet generator

Updated 2026-10-17. Every fact links to its source; prices are as published on each vendor's page on that date.

Make a copy-paste upload button or embedded upload box for your website. Works with any upload link: a CatchFolder or DIY Apps Script web app, a Dropbox File Request, or a OneDrive request link. Runs entirely in your browser.

How to accept files on a website into Google Drive

  1. Get an upload link that writes to Drive. Google Forms won't work for public uploads: it requires sign-in (Google Help) and a form with a File upload question can't be embedded (source). Options: a DIY Apps Script web app (Google), CatchFolder (packaged Apps Script, $12 per 30 days), or a subscription tool (comparison: Formfacade alternatives).
  2. Generate the snippet above and paste it into your site's HTML or code block (WordPress: Custom HTML block).
  3. Test it in a private window (signed out) to make sure strangers can upload.

Embedding note: Apps Script pages can only be framed by other sites if the script sets XFrameOptionsMode.ALLOWALL (Google reference). CatchFolder's script does this; a DIY script must add it.

Want a link anyone can upload to, straight into your Drive? CatchFolder gives you an upload link that needs no Google account and drops files into a folder in your own Google Drive. Early access: $12 for a 30-day Event Pass, with your license and setup guide right after checkout and a full refund if it doesn't work for you within 21 days. See how it works and pricing →

FAQ

How do I accept files on my website and save them to Google Drive?

You need an upload page that writes to Drive and a way to show it on your site. A Google Form with a File upload question can't be embedded (EZ File Drop article) and needs sign-in (Google Help). An Apps Script web app can save to your Drive and can be framed if the script allows it (Apps Script XFrameOptionsMode). Paste this tool's snippet into your site.

Can I embed a Dropbox or OneDrive file request?

This generator only makes a button or link for those, because we haven't verified that their request pages allow framing. Use the button; it opens the request page in a new tab.

How do I add it to WordPress?

Add a Custom HTML block and paste the snippet (WordPress documentation). Most site builders (Squarespace, Wix, Webflow) have a similar code or embed block.

Does the generator collect my link?

No. The snippet is built in your browser; nothing you type is sent to us (we only log that the generator was used, without the URL).
